How to Password-Protect a Directory in cPanel Print

If you need to restrict access to a specific folder on your website (such as an admin area or staging site), you can easily apply password protection using cPanel.

Steps to Password-Protect a Folder:

  1. Log in to your cPanel from the Aviumshost Client Area.
  2. Go to Directory Privacy.
  3. Navigate to the folder you want to protect and click its name.
  4. Tick the option "Password protect this directory".
  5. Set a name for the protected area (this is shown on the login prompt).
  6. Create a username and password for access.
  7. Click Save.

Now anyone visiting that directory will be prompted to enter login credentials to proceed. For extra protection, use strong passwords and change them periodically.
