Creating Custom Nameservers

Summary:
Steps to set up private/custom nameservers like ns1.yourdomain.com.

  1. Log into your domain registrar.
  2. Go to “Register Nameservers” or “Glue Records”.
  3. Register ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com with your server’s IPs.
  4. Add A records in DNS Zone Editor:
    • ns1.yourdomain.com → IP address
    • ns2.yourdomain.com → IP address
  5. Set these as your domain’s nameservers.

Allow up to 48 hours for propagation.
